Know Your Point, with book coach Stephanie Dethlefs

There are a million reasons we might set out to write a novel, but at the core of every reason is that we have something we want to say.

Whether the message is small or big, lighthearted or serious, knowing the point of your story is essential both for keeping the writer on track and engaging the reader once the book is in their hands.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore various prompts to bring your point into focus and put it to work in your story. What you can expect:

  • prompted writing exercises to explore and refine your point
  • creating a map of major plot points as they connect to your point
  • pairs/triads and whole group discussion
  • Q&A

Who this is for:
Anyone who is thinking about, planning, drafting, or revising a novel or memoir
